Here at Oxford Street Health Group we run a variety of group fitness classes to suit you. Our classes are run by qualified health professionals (Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists) to ensure the best possible results for you! Pilates - Matwork
Challenging both the body and mind, our pilates class focuses on activating our stabiliser muscles to allow for more controlled and supported movements through the spine and pelvis. The Matwork class entails lying, sitting and standing work with the addition of small pieces of exercise equipment such as balls, hand weights and resistance bands. Pilates – 3D Standing
For those who don’t feel confident getting up and down from the floor, we offer a 3D standing class. The entire class is completed in standing and is great for increased bone loading and improving balance. Find out more information about the benefits of Pilates here.
HIIT – High Intensity Interval Training
A high intensity workout, challenging your cardiovascular fitness in a safe and effective way, under the guidance of a Senior Physiotherapist. We guide you through progressions and variations throughout the class to ensure you are safely improving your fitness and working towards your goals. A great challenge for those wanting to get sweaty and see results!
Metabolic Buster
A class designed for clients who are pre-diabetic or have been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. Our Exercise Physiologist guides you through a tailored exercise program to improve insulin senstivity, decrease blood glucose levels, aid in weight loss, reduce co-morbidities such as stroke or hypertension, and improve mental and social well-being.
Bone Builder
Aimed at reducing falls risk, improving balance and propiroception, improving muscular strength and reducing progression of disease or injury, this class is perfect for clients with osteopenia, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis or a history of falls. Run by our Exercise Physiologist, all exercise programs are tailored to your individual needs and goals.
